The Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer has been a staple product in many beauty lovers routines, with the likes of Zoe Sugg recommending the product in her everyday makeup routine the concealer rocketed to cult status.
Recently though Collection have reformulated their cult staple and have introduced a Lasting Perfection range of base products. So today I am testing a full face of Collection Makeup to see if it has stood the test of time.

Collection Lasting Perfection Matte Foundation - £6.49
Claims: 6-in-1, Primes, Conceals, Covers, Smoothes, Protects and Mattifies. Water Resistant, Transfer Proof, Full Coverage, No Clogged Pores, 16hr Wear, SPF 30.
First Impressions: I like the packaging the frosted bottle with the black lettering and gold accents has a luxury appeal to it. The frosted bottle does make it hard to judge your shade when you can’t currently swatch or test products due to the covid health and safety guidelines. It has a nice even texture and the consistency is similar to other medium-full coverage foundations and is available in 20 shades.
Application: This foundation applies really nicely and evenly, gives great coverage and I definitely picked it up in a shade too light for me, but that’s not a huge issue as I can warm the face back up with bronzer.
Final Thoughts: I really like this foundation and can see myself getting a lot of wear out of it. It’s not a ‘matte-matte’ foundation if that makes sense it goes have a slight luminance to it. Because it is ‘Water-Resistant’ you will need to use an oil based cleanser to really break this down, I use a cleansing stick and then an oil cleanser and everytime I use the stick first it’s like the foundation transforms into a silicone texture and takes a lot of rinsing and circular motions to really break up the product and get rid of that silicone like feeling. LUST!!
Claims: Smudge Proof, Budge Proof and Transfer Proof, 16 Hours Wear, Water Resistant.
First Impressions: The packaging has had an upgrade to match the new foundation release, and the formula has been reformulated to compliment the foundation and includes 20 shades. The doe foot applicator is a great shape and size perfect for under eye concealing.
Application: The doe foot picks up a lot of product and a little goes a long way. I do find the formula quite drying, I have dry under eyes and find that some under eye concealers emphasise the lines and wrinkles more and leave me under eyes looking drier than a dessert. This concealer is definitely one of those drier than a dessert concealers, if I apply the product over the entire of my under eye it looks horrendous, however, I have found a simple dot under the eyes and blend out (so minimal product usage) this ends up looks gorgeous and natural.
Final Thoughts: Now that I have found a way to make this work for me, I love it!! It has great coverage, a little goes a long way, dark circles are a thing of the past! LUST!!!
Claims: Illuminating Glow with Vitamin E. Vegan Suitable.
First Impressions: I like the packaging, again similar to the Foundation & Concealer packaging. The powder is super fine, for a ‘translucent’ powder it does have a beige pigmentation, and the ‘glow’ is created using tiny reflective particles.
Application: I have NOT used a setting powder in YEARS!! As I mentioned above I have dry under eyes and I find powder can make it look worse, I have tried baked powders, loose powders and I just can’t seem to get it to look nice or natural, until I tried this. I may be a powder convert, this powder is stunning.
Final Thoughts: I think I am a powder convert, this product is gorgeous. It sets the base without compromising luminosity, and every time I catch myself in a mirror I can’t help but admire how stunning the base looks. LUST!!!
Claims: All you need for an instant blushing glow.
First Impressions: A cute palette that contains a matte bronzer, a champagne highlighter and 2 matte blushes. Decent sized pans and travel friendly size packaging.
Application: The bronzer is quite warm toned so I wouldn’t use this as a contour shade but more to add warmth through the face. The highlighter is stunning, it’s not a blinding highlighter but it does give a gorgeous subtle shimmer to the high points of the face. The two blushes are a fantastic year round combination, there is a more muted pink shade for the cooler months and a more coral shade for the summer months. None of the products are overly pigmented which means they are great for building up to the colour that you want rather than worrying about applying too much product.
Final Thoughts: Gorgeous year round palette that is travel friendly and would be a great first palette for anyone looking to get into or learn about makeup as it’s pretty much fool proof. LUST!!!
First Impressions: Nice size doe foot applicator, picks up a lot of product, has great colour pigmentation, does have a metallic finish doesn’t streak, separate or bleed, and is available in 4 shades.
Application: Best applied with a brush or blended out with a brush as it gives more control over the product placement. It dries down quickly and doesn’t loose its pigmentation but the shimmery particles do transfer.
Final Thoughts: I really like this liquid eyeshadow, it’s long-lasting, has great pigmentation and gives a fun twist to any eye look. LUST!!!
