In today’s post I wanted to share a product that I recently purchased and every time I wear it I almost always seem to receive a compliment.

I purchased the Mellow Cosmetics Sinopia Palette a few months back after seeing Mellow Cosmetics pop up on Instagram. The first time I used the palette was my Boyfriends Birthday, back when we were allowed to go to the pub before this second wave of lockdown came into force; while we were out someone complimented me on my eyeshadow. Then, a few days later I used the palette again and while I was out and about I received another compliment on my eyeshadow.
More recently, I decided to use the palette to create a nude/natural eye look for an interview I had, and although I didn’t receive any compliments on the eyeshadow that day, I did however successfully get the job. So, it only seems right to give this eyeshadow palette it’s own little spot on the blog in the form of a shoutout/review post.

As I mentioned earlier I found Mellow Cosmetics through Instagram. They are an Australian brand who ‘believe in making every woman feel more confident!’ By using makeup to enhance natural beauty and giving instant confidence. Their products are cruelty free, vegan and paraben free.
The Mellow Cosmetics backstory is an inspiration for all female entrepreneurs. The company was founded in 2014 by Ima, she was on maternity leave after giving birth to her son and was unsure about whether she wanted to return to work and miss the joys of motherhood. She decided to quit her corporate job and work for herself, and with a lot of research she launched Mellow Cosmetics.
Sinopia Palette Review
The Sinopia Palette consists of 12 gorgeous autumnal shades including warm neutrals, rose gold shimmers and even a shimmery metallic blue for when you need a pop of colour and drama on the lids.
Sinopia is the second eyeshadow palette release from Mellow Cosmetics following their ‘Treasure Chest’ palette which is more of a rose colour theme compared the Sinopia palette which is a warmer rose gold theme.
I personally chose the Sinopia Palette over Treasure Chest as I preferred the Sinopia Colour Story, the blue called to me and the other colours all looked so warm and inviting, it’s also not like any other palettes that I have in my collection, where as the cooler colour story of Treasure Chest just felt a bit basic and I have similar palettes already in my collection.
It took around 3 weeks to arrive due to the Coronavirus, but arrived unscathed from its journey across the world from Australia to England.
The palette itself is thin and lightweight, it fits pretty effortlessly into my makeup bag making this perfect for taking out and about with you if you needed to. Keeping with the Rose Gold theme, the exterior of the palette is rose gold with cream lettering, the interior is cream with rose gold lettering. On the inside of the lid is a letterbox style mirror for when you need to achieve your look on the go, and it is secured shut by two magnets on either side of the palette.
There are 7 mattes: Sinopia, Brick, Nudie, Dust, Blush, Merlot and Pecan; and 5 metallic shimmers: Champagne, Cinnamon, Birch, Currant and Blue Moon.
Each shade is silky smooth to the touch and packs a punch in pigmentation, both in finger swatches and brush application; there is the slightest kick-back in the palette from using a brush, but that doesn’t affect the performance of the product, in fact I’ve not had any fallout on the face when applying and creating the eye looks. The products blend out effortlessly, and are easily buildable which is great for layering and creating dimensional eye looks.
