Cleansing: The first thing I do in the morning is cleanse my face.
To do this I just use a damp muslin cloth, this just helps to remove any build up of oil from sweating in the night, and makes the skin feel fresh and clean. I read an article a while ago about achieving a ‘facial glow’ and in the article they recommend to NOT dry the face and apply your moisturising products straight onto your wet face within 60 seconds to lock in the moisture. I wasn’t too sure about this technique until I read a similar article in Caroline Hirons Skincare Book where she also mentions that you shouldn’t dry your face and should again apply your moisturising products onto your damp face to seal in the moisture. So in the last 6 months I have started to not dry my face and apply my products on top and I have noticed that my skin does maintain a more natural radiant glow, which I love.
Hydration: Once I have cleansed I jump straight in with more hydration by spritzing a hydrating mist all over the face. I follow this up with the essence, eye cream and finally the moisturising cream.
My skin feels so soft and has a gorgeous natural glow to it after this process. I love the boots glow products and they have since released more products which I am dying to try including a couple of pineapple products in the glow range and a Vitamin C range.
Sun Protection: I always finish up my morning routine by applying sun cream, even in the cooler winter months. The scent of sun cream or after sun brings with it summer memories, and as someone who prefers the warmer summer months I find this a great way of holding on to those moments, plus it protects the skin. At the moment I am using Garnier but in the summer months I switch to the Soltan Protect and Repel which is infused with insect repellant and as some one who is allergic to insect bites and stings having sun screen that has insect repellant in it is a life saver.
