This or That Challenge

This or That Challenge

I haven’t done a Tag post in so long and when I read Clem’s This or That Challenge tag I just had to give it ago. I love doing posts like these as they allow the reader an insight into the person behind the blog and they’re super fun to write too. I loved all of Clem’s answer’s so definitely go check out her lovely blog Clemloves and her answers.

Question 1: Shower in the morning or the evening?

I am a shower in the evening girl, I love showering at the end of the night then getting into bed with a good netflix show, colouring book or book to read. I find I’m too much in a rush to shower in the morning’s and find it’s a great way to wind down, and with working such early starts and already being up at 4:30am well I’d much rather sleep those extra minutes. I’m also way too lazy to style my hair after it’s been washed and leave it to dry naturally over night and morning showers would mean either drying and styling my hair or just going out with wet hair and I’m not gonna lie it would most likely be the latter of the two.

Question 2: City centre or close to nature?

Nature through and through. I honestly miss living in such a rural town, even though Alton and Cheadle get busy traffic-wise with Alton Towers Theme Park being so close it is such a beautiful area full of fields and trees and nature walks. My dream would be to live by the sea, I fell in love with Plymouth when I was there on tour last year, and I’ve always wanted to visit Brighton, failing that I want a big country house with a big garden that has a little stream running through it. I prefer the quieter pace of life, it’s so much more laid back, although I don’t exactly live in Birmingham City Centre, I’m roughly about 20 mins away but it’s always so bustly and busy, the downside of living right on top of the M6 motorway and being between two cities like Birmingham and Wolverhampton.

Question 3: Bright colours of neutrals?

I think they both go hand in hand, neutrals are always safe but pops of colour add vibrancy and character. I always flit between the two and couldn’t just choose one or the other.

Question 4: Spring or Autumn?

Ok this one is easy for me, Autumn all the way! I love how vibrant everything becomes in Autumn, all the colours just seem much more intense even more than in the Spring. At the beginning of Autumn its still warm out, the sun still shine’s and I love transitioning my wardrobe in the Autumn too, mixing summery items with warmer items. Plus lots of exciting things happen in Autumn including Halloween and Bonfire night which are two events I absolutely love.

Question 5: Mint or Cinnamon?

Anyone who knows me, knows how much I flipping love Cinnamon. I’m so glad Chia Latte’s are sold year round so I can get my cinnamon fix throughout the year and not just in the colder months. I’ve never been the biggest mint lover, I will always go for a different option if it’s available, although I do love it in it’s fresh leaf form in a huge jug of pimms or infused water.

Question 6: Planned or Spontaneous?

I want to say spontaneous, but I feel the two go hand in hand. I do like to have a vague plan or more of a routine, I find I do better in keeping a regular routine, but outside of that routine I like to be spontaneous. For me dead set 9-5 routine’s are dare I say ‘boring’, but being spontaneous everyday is exhausting so for me I need to balance both to keep my sanity, hence why I’ve personally found working part-time every morning, same days, same times each week keep me in a routine and outside of the part-time job I can do whatever I want go where ever I want work on whatever I want.

Question 7: A movie at home or at the cinema?

At home, you can get all the blankets, pillows and snacks and just completely enjoy it. At the cinema you have to contend with everyone else watching the film, rustling packets, standing up, coughing, phones, at home it’s just you and who ever else you’re with.

Question 8: Espresso or Latte?

Latte, especially the Chia kind.

Question 9: Hugs or kisses?

I’m not really an either person and tend to back away from any kind of physical contact, but I do like a cuddle… occasionally… with someone I’m close with, like, my dog, I’ll give him cuddles all day, or my parents. And I guess kissing isn’t so bad if you’re into the person you’re kissing. When it comes to physical contact I’m like a cat it needs to be on my terms and with someone I like or close with.

Question 10: Spicy or mild food?

Definitely mild though I have branched out into spicy food over the past few years or so and do actually really like some of the stuff I’ve tried but, mild is always my safe option.

Question 11: Leather or Lace?

Leather, I love the smell and feel of leather, lace is way too dainty for my liking. I’m way too heavy handed to allow myself anywhere near something that is remotely lacey. And fun fact I grew up in a town famous for it’s leather and leather saddle’s, often spending summer holidays taking part in summer workshops at the Leather Museum.

Question 12: Overdressed or Underdressed?

Underdressed 100%, I feel so out of place if I rock up somewhere all dressed up, funnily enough I like to disappear into a crowd unnoticed not stand out amongst them, hello social anxiety my old friend, that being said I do like to ‘dress up’ but the moment I step outside or into a big group of people, even people I know and love, I feel so on edge and uneasy.

Question 13: Adventure or comfort?

Again I think this one goes hand in hand, just like planned or spontaneous, adventure’s are great and I will always jump at the chance to go on adventure over spending a day at home, but after such an adventure filled day there is nothing better than going home and just chilling and getting comfortable.

Question 14: TV series or movie?

I originally thought ‘oo this is a hard one’ but then thought about what my go to is almost every night before bed, its a series on netflix not a movie. I do love movies but I see them as like a special event I don’t know why and series I can just stick on the background.

Question 15: Rock or Country Music?

Rock music, although I do love a bit of Carrie Underwood, Shania Twain and old school Taylor Swift but that’s about the extent of my country music knowledge. Rock music has been a massive part of my life growing up and even now, old school tunes bring back memories, and the new tune’s are holding future memories.

Question 16: Red or White Wine?

Neither, can’t stand the stuff.

Question 17: Working alone or in a team?

Team work is a great way of bouncing ideas around and stops it getting so lonely, it’s the reason I went back to part-time work. When I was purely self-employed it was lonely and seeing the same four walls of my house and the same people really knocked my motivation and my mental health, it definitely helps having my part-time work to break up the day and to have actual human interaction with more than just your parents.

Question 18: Swimming or sunbathing?

This is a hard one but I would have to go with swimming, it’s my second nature. I love being by/in water hence why I’d love to live by the sea or to have a little stream. I grew up training and competing in swimming competitions and went on to become a lifeguard and I’m actually teaching my friends daughter to swim (although I’m no qualified swimming teacher, I have a wealth knowledge and experience to pass on to her). Plus you can always work and sunbathe, I love it when the weather is glorious and I can sit out in the garden and work from my laptop.

Question 19: Fast food or sit-down restaurant?

Sit down, there’s just a much nicer and relaxed atmosphere about a sit-down restaurant and you can allow yourself the time to really enjoy your food and experience. There’s nothing worse than rushing to eat your food.

Question 20: Matched or mismatched socks?

Matched but if I find an odd sock I don’t mind mismatching it until his s/o returns. I have/had two socks with a Mr. and Mrs. Snowman on them, I referred to them as my Jack and Holly socks (as an ode to two Christmas’ and the memories I made) but unfortunately I’ve lost Mrs. Snowman which is a little heartbreaking and I can’t come to letting Mr. Snowman go.

Question 21: Dancing or Singing?

You’ll more often than not find me singing, in the car, in the shops, whenever I get the chance, I do love to sing, and I used to sing all the time at college but since leaving and not doing any proper singing I’m sceptical about putting myself out there with it again. Same with dance, I love a good boogie around the house and make up my own choreography but since finishing my performing arts course I’m not dancing near as much as I used to, which kind of makes me sad because I do really miss singing and dancing.

Question 22: Phone or the internet?

I love my phone, but that’s only because it has the internet on it, I spend far too much time on the internet and have recently purged my phone of apps to step away from the Internet and not have it at fingertips length every second of everyday and using my laptop for the internet instead (because the laptop gets left at home). I actually feel much better in myself and mental health since deleting apps like Tinder and Facebook messenger, I can’t come to delete Instagram because I love it so much, and have thought about deleting Snapchat because I only use it for the filters but then I can’t help but think… what if I need a filter one day?

My nominations:

I love these type of posts, it’s so interesting learning a bit more about you! I definitely agree with you being more of a person ‘close to nature’. It’s so much nicer, when I was younger we moved from around London down to Devon and the difference is crazy. It’s so much more relaxed! Definitely couldn’t ever live in a place near a big city again haha.

Haha, I’m currently watching Salem which is a fiction based around the witch trials that happened there, I’ve also watched the Sinner which is where a woman kills a man at the beach and a persistent detective who wants to know why she did it (very binge-worthy) xx

Ah yes! Heard about Sinner, maybe I’ll make a start on that one!!
