Autumn/Winter is my favourite time of year for makeup. I love wearing deep berry shades and bright reds be it on the eyes or on the lips. This season I’ve been wearing a lot more lip products, normally when I find a product I like I’m pretty loyal to it, however this season I have found multiple products that I have been loving and swapping between.
First up Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lipsticks over the months I have picked up a couple of these liquid lipsticks and I love each and everyone of them! They are a highly pigmented thick and creamy formulation applying an effortlessly easy opaque colour to the lips and drying down into a velvet matte finish. They are all super comfortable to wear on the lips and are super long lasting, I can apply the liquid lipstick at 5am before I go to work and by 12pm it is still as perfect as first application. The Lipstick doesn’t stick together, doesn’t cling to any dry patches, doesn’t cake and doesn’t leave your lips feeling dried out. The shades I have been loving this winter from their collection are: Rose & Shine (a beautiful nude pink), Plum This Show (an eyecatching Red), Urban Affair (a dark muted purple) and Midnight (a deep, dark purple). I also have a beautiful blue shade called Blue Iris however I’ve yet to wear it out the house other than for my undead cheerleader look at halloween.
Finally L’Oreal, now I have a few different products from L’Oreal Paris first up Infallible Nudist Matte Lip Paint in the shade Nude-ist ( a greyish purple nude) this is the palest shade I have been wearing this month but because of it’s purple undertones it is still a definite winter lip colour. Just like the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lipsticks the L’Oreal Infallible Nudist Matte Lip Paint is highly pigmented, easy to apply and dries down into a velvet matte finish. Super comfortable and long-wearing on the lips, it doesn’t cling to dry patches, doesn’t leave the lips dried out and doesn’t leave them looking cakey.
Another from the Infallible range is from their L’Oreal Infallible Vampies Lip Paint in the shade Little Wine a deep dark seductive purple shade. The Vampies Collection is part of the Infallible Lacquer Line which is a wet look finish and this collection only has 4 shades (a collection I want to eventually own) Little Wine, Purple Rain (a bright purple), Black Widow (black) and Blue Blood (a dark blue). Little Wine is the perfect winter berry shade, it’s highly pigmented and easy to apply but unlike the matte finish the lacquer doesn’t completely dry down and does still have a bit of movement in it after application and also seems to cling slightly to drier patches of skin.
Finally from L’Oreal from their highly anticipated Balmain Collaboration Color Riche Balmain Lipstick in the shades Power (a dark nude brown) Domination (a bright red), and Glamazone (a grey nude) very similar to the L’Oreal Infallible Nudist Matte Lip Paint – Nudist; Power took me by suprise, I was intrigued by the colour but never would of thought I would suit such a dark and bold colour, however I feel my red hair really compliments the red undertones. The Balmain lipsticks are soft and buttery, they glide on without caking and have a beautiful matte finish.
